Availability, leave and delegates
Working patterns, annual leave, external activities and named delegates — how OrgBearings knows who's in and who covers them.
Availability, leave and delegates
Pro Navigator and Squad feature. Knowing who exists is half the answer. Knowing whether they are at their desk this week is the other half.
Working patterns
Each person can have one working pattern: the days they work (Monday to Sunday, toggled individually) plus their core hours (09:00-17:00 by default). Patterns are shown as compact pills like MON–WED, so part-time colleagues are never a surprise.
Leave
Record planned absence as date ranges — annual leave, sabbaticals, secondments. Leave always wins: a person on leave shows as on_leave regardless of anything else on that date.
External activities
Conferences, training, vendor reviews and audits take people away too. Log the activity once, tag the participants, and OrgBearings treats them as unavailable for those dates.
Delegates
Every person can nominate one delegate — the human who covers them while away. When OrgBearings warns you a resolver is out on your deadline, it tells you who their delegate is and whether the delegate is in. Recommending a delegate who is also on holiday would be no help at all.
Status
A person's status on any date is derived in this order:
on_leave— on planned leaveat_external_event— at a conference, audit or offsiteoff_shift— a non-working day in their patternavailable
Everything is computed in the person's own timezone — a colleague in Bangalore is judged by Bangalore's today, not yours.
Who's In
The Who's In view is the weekly heatmap: your key people, their status each day, colour-coded — emerald available, amber off-shift, rose out entirely. It is the ten-second answer to "can I get this approved this week?"
